ETI Base Code

Landjuweel considers the well-being of its employees important. In addition, the well-being of employees is prioritized by the SMETA standard. That is why we comply with the ETI Base Code (Ethical Trade Initiative) and work according to the principles below:

– Employment is freely chosen
– Working conditions are safe and hygienic
– Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected
– Child labour shall not be used
– Living wages are paid
– Working hours are not excessive
– No discrimination is practiced
– Regular employment is provided
– No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed

“I experience good collaboration with my colleagues and I feel appreciated. This certainly contributes to a pleasant working atmosphere!”
Mariska Verkleij about the working atmosphere within Landjuweel

The ETI Base code is an international guideline for ‘fair production’. This means that traders and their suppliers take responsibility for good working conditions for the people who produce and process the goods.

Complying with this code ensures that we carry out our activities according to the highest integrity standards and in the most appropriate manner.
This promotes trust and respect within our organization but also with our growers, customers and suppliers. We strive to work according to the principles of honesty, awareness and integrity at all times.
