Carefully selected varieties

We select our varieties with care based on their cultivation requirements, flavour, cooking qualities and suitability for storage. We work with regular growers and a range of trading firms to ensure that we stay aware of new and improved potato varieties.

'Don’t disappoint consumers'

Besides offering consistent quality and cooking qualities all year long, our potatoes must also meet certain flavour and textural standards.
We have therefore opted to package specific varieties by segment. That way we can ensure that the flavour and (cooking) qualities stay as consistent as possible throughout the year.
Of course, we also thoroughly inspect our potatoes before washing and packaging them.

'Good for growers and for the environment'

Dutch harvests year-round

Thanks to new varieties and improvements in cultivation and storage, we can now supply quality potatoes grown in Dutch soil all year long. That isn’t just good for our Dutch growers, it also reduces the amount of transport required. Additionally, these potatoes are all cultivated based on the PlanetProof guidelines.

'Sustainable choices for a healthier future'

Future-proof varieties

Climate and legislation are two factors that can affect crops significantly. We care about minimising the impact of our business operations on people, planet and our surroundings. We and our suppliers always strive to find more future-proof varieties.

Varieties like Baltic Fire, for example, which require less water and nitrogen and are more capable of withstanding extreme conditions such as drought or heat.
