'A distinctive style to fit a rugged brand’

‘Jongens van de Klei’ is a brand with its own distinctive style, which has had a presence on retail shelves since 2013.
The concept encompasses a wide range of traditional potato varieties such as Bildtstar, Eigenheimer, Irene, Nicola, Doré and Frieslander. Jongens van de Klei also includes varieties selected specifically for their texture when cooked (waxy, slightly waxy and floury) and recently added an organic line as well.

Nothing is sweeter than the sight of birds over a potato field in the sunshine. Not just due to their singing, but also because birds are enormously important to biodiversity. Birds help ensure a healthy ecosystem.

Many organic growers’ potato fields are bordered by hedgerows or wildflowers. These are home to birds and insect predators, who eat pests such as caterpillars and aphids.

That’s why we support a bird conservation initiative each year. For every bag of organic floury or waxy Jongens van de Klei that gets sold, we donate a fixed percentage to our chosen project.

Besides waxy, slightly waxy and floury options, we also offer a line of traditional potato varieties. These are varieties with distinctive traits that appeal to a wide audience. Currently available:
